Vocal coach, singer, songwriter, vocal producer and artist developer, Robert “RAab” Stevenson has worked with some of the most famous voices and producers heard on pop radio today. Among them are Justin Timberlake, The Dave Matthews Band , Pharrell Williams, Rihanna, Lizzo, Chris Stapleton, Kelly Clarkson, Zac Brown Band, Ne-Yo, Kelly Rowland and many others.

RAab started working for Justin Timberlake in 2002 and is still presently working for him. RAab coached Justin and the background singers for the 2018/2019 “Man of the Woods” world tour. He coached Justin and his background singers for their 2018 “Super Bowl” halftime performance in Minneapolis and co-arranged background vocals.

RAab toured with Justin Timberlake on his 2002 – 2004 “Justified/Stripped /I’m Lovin it” world tour, as a background vocalist, as well as Justin’s 2006 -2007 “Future sex, love show” world tour as lead background vocalist and background vocal arranger, as well as tour vocal coach.

RAab was the lead background vocalist and background vocal arranger, as well as vocal coach at Justin Timberlake’s “Justin and friends” concert that concluded Justin’s “Shriner’s Golf Tournament” in Las Vegas each year from 2008 to 2010. The artists that RAab had the opportunity to perform with and arrange background vocals for on these performances over three of the events were: Rihanna, Will i am, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Leona Lewis, Boyz ii Men, Lionel Richie, 50 Cent, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift, TLC, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Jay Sean, Timbaland, Salt-n-Pepa, Lady Antebellum, Diddy-Dirty Money, Christina Aguilera and T-Pain.

RAab vocal coached Justin Timberlake and his background singers for the 2013 “Legends of the Summer” tour and arranged background vocals for Justin and Jay-Z. He also vocal coached Justin and his background singers for the 2013/2014 “20/20 Experience World Tour”, as well as arranged background vocals.

RAab currently vocal coaches Rihanna, preparing her for concerts and television performances including her upcoming 2023 SuperBowl performance, 2018 “Grammys” performance, “Billboard Awards”, “iTunes Wireless Festival”, “MTV Movie Awards”, 2016 “Coachella”, 2016 “MTV VMAs” and many others. He coached her before each performance on her 2016 “Anti” world tour and arranged background vocals for the tour, 2016 “Grammy tribute to Lionel Richie”. He coached her on the 2014 “Monster Tour” and also arranged background vocals for the tour. He coached her throughout her 2011 “Loud” world tour, as well as her 2013 “Diamonds” world tour and 2013 “777” world tour and 2014 “Concert for Valor” military base performance and 2015 “DirecTV” Pre-SuperBowl concert.

He is the vocal coach for Dave Matthews and coached Dave on the road for all of his 2022 and 2021 performances, as well as for the 2020 and 2019 Dave and Tim’s Mexican Rivera Maya shows, as well as the 2020 “Love Rocks” show in New York City in March, 2020. He also coached him for his 2020 live stream performances.

RAab was also on the road with him for his 2019 European tour, 2019 US, Canadian Summer tour and 2019 Fall dates in Brazil including Rock In Rio and Mexican shows.

RAab has coached him before many live performances including his 2018 “Night Before Super Bowl” concert in Minneapolis, 2018 Radio City Music Hall performance, 2018 Irving Plaza New York performance. During the 2017 “Night for Charlottesville” charity event performance, RAab also had the honor of performing on stage with Dave Matthews Band and Stevie Wonder.

RAab also toured with Dave for his entire 2018 Summer tour many of his 2017 US tour dates on the “Dave and Tim” acoustic shows including the 2017, 2018 and “Dave and Tim-Riviera Maya” performances.

He worked with Dave prior to his 2017 “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” performance. He also went on tour with Dave Matthews for the 2016 “Dave Matthews Band 25th Anniversary Summer Tour”.  He coached Dave Matthews for 2015 dates in Mexico City including festival “Vive Latino” and coached and traveled with him for all of his 2015 North American and European tour. He also traveled with The Dave Matthews Band for much of their 2014 North American tour.

RAab vocal coaches Pharrell Williams and has vocal coached him for many performances including his 2019 “Something in the Water” festival, 2018 “The Voice” performance with N.E.R.D, 2017 “Ellen Degeneres Show” performance for the “Hidden Figures” movie soundtrack, 2017 “Roots Picnic” performance, 2017 “Apollo at the Hamptons” performance, 2016 Toronto International Film Festival performance for the “Hidden Figures” movie soundtrack performance with Kim Burrell and Lalah Hathaway, 2016 “Grammy tribute to Lionel Richie”, 2014 “Coachella” and television appearances “The Oscars”, “The Grammys”, “MTV VMA’s”, “The Voice”, “Good Morning America” “NBA All Star Weekend”, “The Today Show”, “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, “The Tonight Show”, “Saturday Night Live” and many others. He also traveled with him to vocal coach him for much of his 2014 “Dear Girl” European tour.

RAab started coaching Lizzo in 2020, preparing her for upcoming performances.

He coaches Chris Stapleton, preparing him for his 2022 and upcoming 2023 performances.

RAab coaches singer/songwriter Charlie Puth since 2017, preparing him for many performances including his 2018 world tour, the 2017 Jingle Ball concerts, Ellen Degeneres show, Late Night with James Corden and many others.

He coaches Zac Brown, preparing him for many of his performances.

RAab is the vocal coach to Grammy award winning singer, Brandi Carlile, coaching her on the road for many of her 2022 and 2021 tour dates, as well as her 2019 Grammy performance, 2019 Aretha Franklin Grammy tribute, her 2020 and 2019 Mexico “Girls Just Wanna” weekend and touring with her for many more of her 2019 and 2018 dates and live performances.

He performed with Madonna as a background vocalist on the 2016 “Billboard Awards”.
He also worked with Madonna for her 2015 “Grammy Awards” performance by putting the choir together and teaching and arranging parts and vocal coaching the choir and background singers for her performance of “Living for Love”.

He is the vocal coach to Sza and has prepared her for many performances including her 2019 Aretha Franklin Grammy tribute, 2018 Grammy Performance and 2017 performance on Saturday Night Live.

RAab also coaches Tahlia, preparing her for performances.

In 2010, RAab partnered with vocal coach Mindy Pack, to create “Voice Tutor”, a vocal coaching app for the iPhone and iPad.

RAab has vocal coached Kelly Clarkson and prepared her and her background singers for the 2015 “Piece by Piece” tour featuring Pentatonix, as well as arranged background vocals. He also prepared her and her background singers for the 2013 Honda Civic Tour with Maroon 5, where he also arranged background vocals for Kelly’s show. He performed as a background vocalist and also arranged background vocals for several television appearances with Kelly Clarkson in December, 2013, including “Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Tale”, “The Today Show”, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” “The Voice” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and many others, promoting Kelly’s Christmas album “Wrapped In Red”.

RAab co-arranged the background vocals, vocal coached and sang backgrounds with Kelly Clarkson, as well as guest performers Meghan Trainor, Charles Esten and Martina McBride for her “Miracle on Broadway” charity benefit concert in December 2014 and again for her 2016 December “Miracle on Broadway”. He also coached her before her 2015 performance at the “iHeart Radio Music Awards”.

RAab also co-arranged background vocals for a song on Kelly Clarkson’s  2017 album “Meaning of Life”.

He is the vocal coach to Sza and has prepared her for many performances including her 2019 Aretha Franklin Grammy tribute, 2018 Grammy Performance and 2017 performance on Saturday Night Live.

RAab coaches artist LP and recently prepared her for her  2020 live stream performances.

He has coached singer/songwriter Jessie Reyez, preparing her for performances.

Raab has coached artist, Lauren Jauregui, preparing her for performances.

He has coached singer/songwriter Natalie Hemby.

RAab has vocal coached singer Andra Day, helping to prepare her for her 2019 Grammy performance.

He has vocal coached  Margo Price.

RAab is the vocal coach to gospel artist Erica Campbell of Mary Mary, preparing her for many live performances.

He has vocal coached singer, songwriter and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss, preparing her for her win on the Masked Singer TV show in 2020.

RAab is the coach for Monica and helped her and her background singers prepare for the 2017 “Great Xscape Tour”, also co-arranging background vocals and preparing her for performances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in 2018, “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in 2017 and many others.

He is the vocal coach to singer/actress Amber Riley, preparing her for performances including the 2019 live television performance of The Little Mermaid.

RAab has also coached Lukas Nelson and Joan Osborne.

He coached Meghan Trainor before her performance at the 2015 “iHeart Radio Music Awards”.

RAab worked with Jennifer Hudson in the recording studio in 2004, where they recorded an unreleased duet.

He has coached Jussie Smollett of the hit TV show “Empire”, including preparing him for 2015 television performances on “The Ellen Degeneres Show”, “American Idol” and a performance at the Season One Finale Screening for Emmy voters at the “Ace Hotel” Los Angeles.

RAab has vocal coached supermodel and singer Cara Delevigne, preparing her for upcoming performances.

He worked behind the scenes in 2015 for the motion picture “Dirty Grandpa”, helping to prepare Robert DeNiro for a musical scene in the movie and vocal coached Zac Efron, Julianne Hough and Zoe Deustch, preparing them for their singing parts in the movie.

RAab coaches singer/songwriter Ryan Tedder of “One Republic”.  He coached him before his 2019 Red Rocks performance, 2017 “Good Morning America” performance, as well as 2016 television performance on German television show, “3,2,1 Music” and 2016 performance on the US version of “The Voice”. He prepared him for his duet performance with Pharrell Williams on the Grammys 2015 “Tribute to Stevie Wonder” television special. He also co-arranged and performed with a choir for background vocals on songs “Choke” and “Lift me up” from One Republic’s 2016 album “Oh My My My”.

RAab vocal coaches Kelly Rowland of “Destiny’s Child”, 2019, 2018 and 2017 “The Voice” Australia coach, and 2013 UK “X Factor” judge, preparing her for concerts and television performances.

He has coached Austin Mahone, preparing him for concerts and television performances.

RAab has also vocal coached singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, country singer Martina McBride and Shawn Mendes while he opened up for many of Taylor Swift’s “1989” tour shows in 2015, Wesley and Stelth of the band “The Lumineers”, “Icona Pop”, “The Voice” contestant Avery Wilson and many others.

He works with many other talented singers and groups. He also produces and writes/collaborates to create new music with many artists.

RAab has made several television appearances, both as a vocalist and as a vocal coach. He appeared as a vocal coach on TLC’s “The Singing Office” alongside “Spice Girl” Mel B and Joey Fatone of “N Sync”. He also appeared as a vocal coach on the Australian television show “Six beers of separation”.

He worked on season 1 of NBC’s television show “The Voice”, working behind the scenes as a vocal coach for many of the contestants.

RAab also worked behind the scenes of the Australian version of “The Voice” 2017, helping coach Kelly Rowland with her finalist singer Fasika and also behind the scenes of the UK version of “X Factor” in 2011, helping judge Kelly Rowland to coach and mentor her contestants on the show.

He enjoys sharing his experiences and knowledge of the music industry and has put this into an interactive workshop that he has taken all over the USA, as well as around the world to countries such as Australia, Canada, Israel and Russia.

RAab loves to work with not only major artists, but with many up and coming artists and enjoys helping them to develop their talent and seeing them grow.
